چکیده
Background and Objectives Middle ear implants (MEI) have been reported to be an effective safe alternative for the treatment of sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) conductive (CHL). This study aimed compare functional outcomes between SNHL CHL in terms audiological gains.Subjects Method The medical records 14 consecutive patients who underwent MEI surgeries from 2015 2019 by a single surgeon were retrospectively reviewed. Audiological changes using aids (HA) compared. Results In SNHL, mean unaided air-conduction pure tone audiometry (PTA), (57.7 dB HL) decreased significantly HA (44.7 41.4 HL), but with no significant difference each other. Unaided word recognition score (WRS) at 65 HL (45.1%) was improved (72.6% 76.6%), difference. CHL, bone-conduction PTA 77.1 (57.5-93.8) 44.1 (26.3-57.5) HL. Three could not use conventional HAs due otorrhea deformity external auditory canal previous 4 had used before MEI. Though both vibrant soundbridge (VSB) showed improvement thresholds (32.0 48.8 WRS (80.0% 94.9%), it only when VSB. There VSB.Conclusion can option patients, especially those suffered problems HA.

متن کاملPseudoexfoliation Syndrome and Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Introduction: Pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXS) occurs due to the deposition of extracellular fibrillar materials on the anterior chamber of the eye. This syndrome has been considered to be part of a systemic disease with the potential involvement of the inner ear called sensoroneural hearing loss (SNHL). In this study, we aimed on evaluating SNHL within PXS patients in Iran to compare them wi...

OBJECTIVES To estimate binaural asymmetric sensorineural hearing loss in own material of patients treated in Dept. of Phoniatrics and Audiology. MATERIAL & METHODS The retrospective analysis was performed on the group of 1816 patients hospitalized in 2008 due to hearing disorders. Asymmetry of hearing loss was classified on Margolis and Saly criteria in PTA, and in ABR results in children. ...
متن کاملLong-Term Patient Satisfaction With Different Middle Ear Hearing Implants in Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Introduction: Implantable hearing devices are a viable option for patients with moderate-to-severe sensorineural hearing loss who cannot benefit from the conventional hearing aids. In this study, we focus on the patients_ satisfaction with 3 different middle ear implants, the Vibrant SoundBridge (VSB), the semiimplantable Otologics MET implant, and the fully implantable Carina implant. Material...
